I’ve been involved with athletics since I was 4 years old, and have always had a passion to help other people grow and get better. I am always eager to learn new things and truly believe that although you may never know everything, you can never stop learning. I believe that the basis of a great athlete begins with the ability to move efficiently and have awareness of their surroundings. I subscribe to a holistic view of health & fitness that the body, mind, and spirit are all interdependent and heavily influenced by one another.

I graduated from Bridgewater State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, and returned to BSU for an individualized Master’s Degree in Physical Education. I have over 4 years of experience competing in Olympic weightlifting, and have been involved with strength & conditioning as a sport performance coach since 2013. I also have experience working as a personal trainer. I currently hold certifications with the NSCA as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), NASM as a Fitness Nutrition Specialist (NASM-FNS), and USA-Weightlifting as a Sport Performance Coach (USAW-SPC).

Athletic Background: High school Varsity Football and Lacrosse. Olympic Weightlifting competitor since 2012.

Best Lifts: 100kg snatch, 120kg Clean & Jerk

Favorite Lift: Snatch. I love the technical aspects, even if they don't always love me back.

Least Favorite Lift: Deadlifts. I'm awful at deadlifts, and I hate things I suck at.

Philosophy behind training, programming, athletics: There is more to fitness than just outward appearance. Mental aspects and spirituality play just as big of a role in a person's goal to achieve a better fitness outcome.

Favorite Athlete: Tom Brady. He's not just a winner, but he's the consummate professional.

Biggest Mentor: Bill Stearns. We became friends in high school playing football, and our friendship continued through our college years and beyond. He introduced me to the fitness world. He has always pushed me to be a better version of myself and encouraged me to never stop learning. If it wasn't for his help and guidance I would not be anywhere near where I am today.
